What I Wish I Knew Workshop

€90.00

Description:

  • As a mum of 4 and has worked with thousands of pregnant women in the pool over my almost 30years of being a physio, I've learned a thing or two about how to adjust well to being pregnant and many tips/tricks on how to help your body blossom and grow through your 40weeks.

  • I'm passing on to you what I wish I had known starting out my first pregnancy journey 18 long years ago.

  • Series of 4 x 45minute learning/exploring workshops with an additional accompanying 25-minute exercise video to download so that you can work away from yourself on the learning points from the workshop.

  • There are lots of ideas packed into each workshop on how to bring movement and improvement into your day to get the work done.

  • The additional exercise video gives you a nice sequence of movement that is flowing and feels good while working out some sticky spots which you will love to do throughout your pregnancy in the comfort of home.

  • Each of the five weeks spotlights a different area in the body.

  • These workshop areas might surprise you, but it’s where the magic is for you.

45-minute learning/exploring workshops

Steps:

  1. Workshop 1 explores structural changes in your skeleton and muscles with pregnancy and how we can support, align and strengthen your body and breath to keep our foundation happy.

  2. Workshop 2 explores our feet, this is a feet-first approach, the feet being our absolute foundation with impressively powerful connections to our pelvic floor, back/neck/jaw tightness, and even our breathing pattern! We need to re-connect with our feet, we've been strapping them into restrictive shoes for years, like putting casts on our hands!

  3. Workshop 3 focuses on the pelvic floor, and not just contracting it! Preparing this area for what’s to come and improving chances of good recovery afterward is important. For your birth, learning to relax in this area is very important so that your powerful muscles in your uterus can push this baby out! Similarly, to our feet, finding a connection between our brain and pelvic floor is the key to success here, while also pairing it with our breath.

  4. Workshop 4 builds on our new pelvic floor skills looking at our pelvis, hips, and bum. Our pelvis is the central connection point between our upper and lower body, holding us up, transmitting force, and holding our growing baby safe. Strength and support in this area are paramount, understanding how is our goal with this workshop.

  5. Our final workshop 5 focuses on the upper back and neck. This area can frequently give some bother due to changing posture and body shape during pregnancy, and often being tied to a desk and commuting for long hours over many years. This upper back area takes a lot of the strain in early motherhood withholding/burping your baby, feeding, changing, and carrying car seats. Strengthening this area is important and we'll get started on a plan for you, as well as a discussion around positioning, technique, and helpful equipment during the early motherhood phase.
